Advanced Tactics
Real gunfights usually require smart use of cover and concealment so this week Tom joins Clint Smith at Thunder Ranch to cover shooting from awkward positions. Later in the show, Clint and Heidi Smith demonstrate advanced team tactics for moving armed through a house. In 'Survival Tools,' Dick Metcalf broaches the subject of heavy and slow bullets vs. light and fast for self-defense, including one of the newest light/fast cartridges, the .327 Magnum. According to Massad Ayoob, trying to disarm an assailant is one of the most dangerous things you can do, and should only be a last resort. Even so, Massad shares moves you should know if ever faced with such a situation. Even the best ARs can malfunction. Whether it's operator error, a bad magazine or a dud round, Clint Smith demonstrates the proper corrective action in this week's 'Skills Drill.'
